3: Your guide to surviving capitalism in 2023
Focusing on input rather than output
Here we are, in the first few days of the new year and I am hearing from so many people that they’re feeling pressured to kick off 2023 a certain way… a perfect way. Totally goal and output focused. It’s no wonder AND there’s no shame in that. Why? Because society’s messaging is EVERYWHERE, especially from gyms and food companies.
The new year, January, and the winter season may be a tough time for you or maybe something new is going on right now that you can’t quite figure out how to navigate. Whatever’s going on, I’ve got a radical invitation for you:
Take a deep dive into your inquiry of why you experience winter the way you do, how to create space for yourself so you can begin really listening to what is coming up for you about the truth of why you struggle in the winter, get clear on what you truly want out of this year, and exploring a better way forward for yourself that centers your specific needs and practices that align.
Because you’re not meant to struggle through or endure winter.
You do not have to start the new year with a bang.
You do not have to create a new you this year.
You do not have to subscribe to all of the diet and fitness culture messaging that’s bombarding the airwaves.
You do not have to do MORE, you do not have to be different or less of something.
And you do not have to create change that doesn’t feel aligned.
After years of personally subscribing to and professionally pushing all of that messaging - I’m done with it because it’s wrong and harmful. And I’ve unsubscribed from alllllll correspondence about it.
If you’re feeling the call to do the same, I am here to help you answer it.
The shit we need to talk about today in Episode 3 is:
Lowering the volume of the noise (in your mind and in the media) with pressure to start the new year in a certain way - the perfect way.
Creating space to hear from yourself, listen to yourself, and tend to yourself
Centering your winter mental health so you can get clear on why you experience winter the way you do and create a more easeful way forward with self-care practices truly aligned to your specific needs, desires and energy of the season,
The beginning of a conversation around exploring releasing tension, relaxing, resting, and rejuvenating like it’s your job that we’ll continue through the month of January and probably ALL YEAR, if I’m being honest!
