13: The truth about the endless cycle of burnout

You can’t sprint a marathon

We’re trying to find ease in our work and everyday life while also navigating capitalism but the only solutions offered to reach our goals are pushing us to join the rat race or are bypassing our actual experience. And doing it all as fast and intensely as possible. The result: an endless cycle of burnout.

In this episode, the shit we need to talk about is: You can’t sprint a marathon.

You want to balance your self care, work, and life with the changes of the season and do things you enjoy while you manage it all. Yet, you find yourself in the same cycle over and over, every year. Repeating the same practices and cycles even though they’re not working. 

Today we’re naming factors that contribute to the endless cycle of burnout and acknowledging all the ways we’re trying to solve it. And then, we’re getting curious about some initial thoughts that just might help us begin to interrupt the cycle.
